"After twenty years of living in New York City I moved to the coast of New Jersey. I loved walking around the city, taking in the buildings, the people, the hustle and the bustle. I still love walking. It’s my thing. I paint what I see and feel around me. The horizon has become very important to me. It’s looking out, looking forward. It is something we all have seen. All things that are positive. It’s my starting point when I paint.
With palette knives I lay paint thick across the canvas. Layering and scraping, creating what I have seen with what I have felt. I like to push the boundaries between realism and abstraction. Using broad fields of color to create depth my work is recognizable as a landscape which allows the viewer to travel in their own imagination."
